Description: |
The intent of this RFP is to find a Successful Proponent capable of providing the Work described immediately below. A more detailed description of the Work can be found in Appendix 1 (Information). EPCOR’s intent for this project is for the relocation of existing combined sewers (1,200mm and 600mm) to accommodate the future LRT trackway and station platform within the Blatchford Development Area. The existing deep 1,200 mm combined sewer trunk is to be relocated south of the existing sewer to align with proposed Blatchford development roadways. The sewer is proposed to be upgraded in size to 1,350 mm diameter to permit a reduction in slope. Due to the depth of this sewer (12.5-13m) it will be constructed by trenchless methods (mircotunnelling). The existing 600 mm combined sewer connection from the Blatchford north area will be continued east across the proposed trackway along a proposed Blatchford development right-of-way to a roadway that will turn south and drop into the deeper sewer trunk. Since the depth of this sewer is 4 m to 6 m, open cut construction is permitted. The new combined sewer will consist of approximately 202 m of 1,350 mm diameter pipe and 268 m of 600 mm diameter pipe. The project will include constructing temporary shafts, five (5) new manholes, one (1) drop structure manhole, and one cased crossing. The Work will also include tie-in connections, surface restoration, and other related work. |
