| Description: |
The intent of this RFP is to find a Successful Proponent capable of providing the Work described immediately below. A more detailed description of the Work can be found in Appendix 1 (Information). EPCOR’s intent for this project is to rehabilitate all or a portion of the 390 m long segment of the 2,344 mm concrete conveyance and storage tunnel (NL2 section) that is part of the North Edmonton Sanitary Trunk (NEST) system that services North Edmonton. A recent inspection by EPCOR Drainage noted the section of tunnel approximately 40 m downstream of the abandoned pump station, PW174 (near 76 Street), is in poor condition due to H2S-induced corrosion and may be at risk of collapsing. The inspection was terminated approximately 40 downstream of PW174 due to sludge in the tunnel and safety risks due to the corroded tunnel walls. As such, the condition of the remainder of the tunnel section is uncertain. The Work is to be completed in two stages. Stage 1 would consist of the design and construction of a new access shaft and manhole, flushing, inspection, and condition assessment of ~390 m of pipe. Pending the outcome of Stage 1 and at EPCOR’s discretion, Stage 2 will consist of rehabilitating all or a portion of the NL2 segment. EPCOR makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of the information contained in this RFP. The Proponent is responsible for making its own evaluation of information and data contained in this RFP and in preparing and submitting its Reply. |
